Hi list!
One of my digital clap traps has a different sample, a conga sound instead of the usual clap burst. Is it that the eprom in the trap is interchangable with some other Simmons system, or has the sample been switched some other way?
Hi,
Yes the Eprom is interchangeable .

While it is interchangeable, the eprom loops playback like the HiHat and Cymbal in the SDSV - not just a one-shot playback like eproms in an SDS7, SDS9 and SDS1.

Ok, sounds great, are all the eproms of the same kind, or which system
should i look for?
Yes, the conga sound kind of loops too, but not in a way that makes sense.
Still useful though, with a more appropriate sound.
Thanks a bunch! / Fredrik

Any 8k eprom will work. But, if you want it to to react like an eprom in an SDS1, 7 or 9, you'll need to figure out how to disable the looping. I'm sure one of the Jedi Simmons techs can let you know if it's possible.
