OK, so now how do you pronounce "Mabuse"?

Does is rhyme with "abuse"? "A beaux"? "Debussey"?

Hell, just write a PSIM/SpeechJet program for us to listen to!

Dear Dr. A.C. Mabuse,
Okay, I got the message, got the message, got the message! (I received
it 3
times. ;-)

That's a good story, and I'm *glad* that I asked -- I doubt that most
off-topic forays would be so funny. I'll have to grab a copy of the Roto
Rooter Goodtime Christmas Band's Greatest Hits as soon as it's released,
which I'm sure will be any decade, now...

I've never seen the films, myself. The song I heard was by a mid-1980s
band
named "Propaganda."

Ok
This is blatantly off topic and unsolicited but I'm going to do it
anyway
Drmabuce is a misspelling of Dr. Mabuse (because somebody beat me to it
on =
yahoo)
I am not a doctor and any medical advice I dispense should be regarded
with=
 great skepticism.
It is a nickname . My real name is Mike Murphy but there are thousands
of M=
ike Murphys. It's kind of a celtic version of the "Bob Johnson"
syndrome.
I=
first heard the name Doctor Mabuse in college on an LP by the Roto
Rooter
G=
oodtime Christmas Band. There is a break in a fairly conventional
salsa
nu=
mber - then you hear a nasal voice say: Ladies & Gentlemen...
Doc-torrrrrrrr=
rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr maBUSE!
Followed by the most amazing deconstruction of the tenor sax timbre.
like 4=
8 diesel airhorns in a shouting match.
Lordy Day! I was in love!
Fast forward to 1989 and Iwas recruited by a band that traditionally
used s=
tage names and there was no question in my mind who I wanted to be: Dr
Alpho=
se Caspar Mabuse.
And it `stuck' most people in the local music scene have never known me
as =
anything but `doc'
It was only AFTER I adopted the stage name that I saw the German
expression=
ist films.
(I don't look like him either)
so there!
That'll teach ya to stray off topic in THIS forum

Salut!
-`doc'
