Sorry for the stuttering re-sends all,
i had trouble with the word-wrap when i imported my text and had to delete 2 unreadable msg's (sorry... i wasn't trying to make a point!)

the most common pronunciation i've heard is:
muh-boose (accent on 2nd syllable)
as for speech synthesis....
i never touch the stuff!
