Once all of them have been shipped, there will be 56 of them "in the wild". The first three were prototypes. The second three were pre-production. The following 50 are production. Okay... the first few (maybe a dozen) were "fun" to build (sort of). After that... well... oh the stories I could tell! heh Things go along smoothly until you hit one with a problem and have to diagnose and troubleshoot it. I had one with a single bad DAC channel on it (tiny little surface mount part). Talk about *frustrating*! I also hand match all the LEDs as well as several other parts. For those of you who haven't seen one in person... all the resistors and diodes (and there are a LOT of them) are all "hand formed" as the resistors mount vertically and the diodes aren't quite 0.4" (can't use the lead former - and never trust the handy PCB layout software!). Anyway... when it comes down to it, the PCBs aren't that difficult. It's getting the parts matched and then off it goes. Wiring the panel takes "forever". I'm glad there are so many "partials"!!! (Thanks Larry!!!) Believe it or not, what drives me nuts is the power cables, packaging, updating software for the CDs, etc. The layout of the wiring pads could have been better. I route them neatly and am actually a bit afraid to change *anything* because these work so well *exactly* as they are. Anyway... onwards and sideways... errr... upwards! :) Take care everyone! - Brice http://www.SynthModules.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "john mahoney" <jmahoney@gate.net> To: <SynthModules@yahoogroups.com> Sent: Thursday, October 07, 2004 9:12 AM Subject: Re: [SynthModules] Re: PSIM-1 schedule update > >> Thanks for the update Brice.
