I'd joined this group to see if any progress had been made on the SpeakJet module I'd read about online...but it looks like illness has set Brice back quite a bit. I'm sorry to hear it, and hope you're feeling better. Any intention of either building the SpeakJet module, or posting DIY plans on the web site? The mp3 samples sounded wonderful!

I wired up one to mine. I don't know anyone else who has. Originally I connected it via serial. You don't really need the switches although I added them. A minimum interface requires just two wires and a low pass filter. I have schematics of the serial version here. http://modularsynthesis.com/modules/synthmodules/PSIM%20SpeakJet% 20schematic.jpg I didn't do much with it because the programming was such a pain. Later I added a TTS256 chip which makes it really nice. It is also serial and you can just wire it in series with the speakjet. However, when I did this, I changed my interface from serial since it caused issues with MIDI although I don't think many people would be using both. Some details here http://modularsynthesis.com/modules/synthmodules/synthmodules.htm Dave --- In SynthModules@yahoogroups.com, "travesty14850" <travesty14850@. ..> wrote: > > I'd joined this group to see if any progress had been made on the > SpeakJet module I'd read about online...but it looks like illness has

Hmm, forgive my ignorance here. Is the proposed SpeakJet module simply an add-on to the PSIM? I don't have a PSIM... Or is it a standalone Blacet-style sound-generation module? Or is it merely a glimmer in somebody's eye? I'm pretty good with DIY, given a schem and layout diagram, but I'm not especially adept at trial-and-error with electronics. Thanks...
