Re: [SynthModules] New poll for SynthModules

I agree 100% on good sliders! And if this is going to be a "step sequencer" interface, I'd like to mention: * a Gate Time knob * a on/off switch for each step (could be "skip"!) * ability to set step length (like Sys700 sequencer) Actually, what would really be cool would be a slider, a knob and a on/off switch (or two) for each step. That would allow for a LOT of flexability for the user, and flexability is the PSIM's middle name :) Maybe make them 8 step modules that can be cascaded together for 16 steps? <hal> My mind is going... </hal mode> Andrew >>> mark@midiwall.com 02/23/04 12:31 PM >>> SynthModules@yahoogroups.com (07:34 AM 2/23/2004) wrote: >When setting up a complex sequence or >event, which do you prefer, sliders or >knobs? > > o Sliders > o Knobs > o Don't care I wanted to comment publicly on this... I picked Sliders, but I wanted to add a caveat. The reason I like sliders is because I can look at the panel and "see/hear/feel" what the event/sequence will be. _BUT_ I would only wants sliders if they're smoooooooooooth. Most sliders at a reasonable cost feel a lot more gritty than their comparably priced rotary cousins. So if the poll is meant to gather info for an upcoming module/interface, then please spend the bucks and pass on the cost for good feeling controls. Thanks Brice!
