Pricing is not really a question of fairness. It is a marketing
decision, and not an easy one. Price can impact the quantity of sales,
with lower prices potentially yielding more sales numbers, depending on
the type of product. But given equal production costs, the profit
margin is lower. Mass production makes for lower prices, but in the
case of modules like the Zeroscillator, the mass production quantities
are not very large and the amount that Cynthia can save with quantities
is probably related to parts costs, such as panels, which are cheaper in
quantities. The assembly cost is going to be a constant. Outfits like
Cyndustries, Synth Tech, and Synthesizers.com want to stay in business,
and you want them to, too. They have to make money. Their costs are
going up. Given the tiny market for this type of product, it's amazing
we have these available at what are quite reasonable costs. If $650 vs.
$600 per module is a deal breaker for some customers, that will need to
be considered by Cyndustries. But it is up to them to set pricing. It
is true that an unexpected price increase -- or the expiration of a sale
price -- may annoy customers on the verge of a purchase. I think that
such complaints are best worked out in private discussions with the company.

Cynthia asks for a 50% deposit at the time of order. If you had made a
deposit and then in the interim between your order and delivery the
price went up, you should end up paying the original price, since that
was the understanding at the time of order. If not, then that would
indeed be unfair. But I don't think that is the case here.
