It's good know that it's not done this way anymore. Is this change documented somewhere? I didn't see it on the power faq. Isn't this a potentially dangerous configuration? I had a TR-909 running on my supply that started resetting itself while the the grounds were connected. For months I've experienced other grounding issues while interfacing my Serge/Driscoll rig with other gear just because the signal ground was connected to the Major Power Supply, even when it was turned off. It seems like I need to not only disconnect the jack from earth ground but also disconnect it from chassis ground and then connect the jack to signal ground. epk --- In The_Cyndustries_List@yahoogroups.com, Cynthia Webster <cynthia.webster@...> wrote: > > Some of the earlier Power Supplies connected to the green ground jack to > the chassis ground but we stopped doing that some time ago. > you Can simply snip the wire to earth if you like, or ad a switch as a > ground lifter. > > More about the subject here > > http://www.cyndustries.com/modules_powerdist-FAQ.cfm > > Best Wishes! > > Cynthia > > http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/The_Cyndustries_List/ > > > > > > electronicpressskit wrote: > > > > > > So today I was using my Modcan/Cynthia system and cross patching with > > my Driscoll/Serge system and ran into some grounding issues. > > > > The Modcan/Cynthia rig is powered with a Cynthia Major PSU and the > > Serge/Driscoll rig is powered with a power-one supply I got from ebay > > and wired up myself. > > > > On the PSU I wired, I took the signal ground to my ground jack to use > > when connecting to other PSU's.
