Re: Major Power Supply grounding

2010-01-18 by electronicpressskit

It's good know that it's not done this way anymore. Is this change documented somewhere? I didn't see it on the power faq.

Isn't this a potentially dangerous configuration?

I had a TR-909 running on my supply that started resetting itself while the the grounds were connected. For months I've experienced other grounding issues while interfacing my Serge/Driscoll rig with other gear just because the signal ground was connected to the Major Power Supply, even when it was turned off.

It seems like I need to not only disconnect the jack from earth ground but also disconnect it from chassis ground and then connect the jack to signal ground.
