Hey, that's not how it's supposed to work - the partial payment was
supposed be an added incentive for prompt shipment ;-)

BTW, the ZO has to be one of the most innovative and exciting analog
synth products to come along in quite some time. The design,
features and clever packaging are awesome! Seems like everyone else
is stuck copying those same worn-out 30-year old designs over and
over again. Thanks for the taking the risk!

Hi Cynthia,

congratulations, I wish you all the very best!

Take your time, at least I'm not in a hurry.
As I mentioned recently, I don't have cabinet space by now, so an early
delivery of _my_ order doesn't help that much. ;-)

      Michael.

I think everyone in Cyndustries took off to mexico for spring break.
either that or a big announcement is coming...

Re: [The_Cyndustries_List] Update

2006-03-15 by Cynthia Webster

We're working killer hours over here makin' Zeroscillators for everybody.

We shipped several of them today, while we were making large batches of ZO
front panels assemblies in various flavors (now making Blacets), and a
lot of
our other older back ordered modules are getting shipped everyday as well.

The shop is a hopping!

In the meantime we are finding that the Euro Zeroscillators may fit
better into
Analogue Systems Eurocard cages than the Doepfer ones.

Euro Zo Observations

There is a vertical power distribution PC board running horizontally
across the back
of a Doepfer cabinet that we encountered. It blocked the Euro format
Zeroscillator
so as it is now, the ZO is about half an inch too deep.
We are working on a solution that is to supply a right angle adapter PC
board that
simply snaps into any Euro Zeroscillator and raises our set of circuit
boards high enough
to clear the power strip in the Doepfer Cabinets.

Anyone will be able to install this adapter board in five-minutes with only
a screwdriver.

Because of this, at the present time we are recommending the Analogue
Systems
rack cabinets as the best choice for mounting Zeroscillators.

The power cable situation is another area that we are trying to focus on
at the
moment. We've been supplying the Euro Zeroscillators with 10-pin Doepfer
style power cables about a foot long.

Ideally we would also like to supply a "Flippy"
"10-pin Doepfer-to-16-pin DIP-Analogue Systems power connector adapter
pigtail"
so customers can choose to plug their Euro Zeroscillators into either
brand of
cabinet with ~either~ type of power connector.

I don't know where to order these types of adapter cables and welcome
suggestions if anyone would like to contact me directly
(cynthia.webster@gte.net)
In the meantime we're working out these little details, need to order
the right
little mounting screws, etc.

DotCom Zo Observations

There is also a clearance issue on the portable versions of the
Synthesizers.com
cabinets where again, the mighty ZOis only fractions of an inch - too
deep to fit.
Here we will also supply a small right angle adapter board to create the
proper
clearance, (portable cabinets only) the standard walnut Synthesizers.com
cabinets
are no problem.

These little issues have really had us on our toes and we're making the
proper adjustments and doing the artwork for the adapter cards now.
Most people will not need any sort of adapter boards at all, so this is
yet another
thing on the endless to do list!

Thanks everyone for your patience,

Cynthia

(who's exhausted tonight!)

Re: [The_Cyndustries_List] Update , ZO alterations for the doepfer a100 rack.

2006-03-15 by Bakis Sirros

hello cynthia,
glad that you made this important remark about the ZO
and doepfer a100 racks!
i will mount my ZO into a doepfer a100 rack, so,
please, MAKE SURE that the ZO that you'll send to
me(to ingo actually) fits correctly in a doepfer a100
rack. ok? (make the nesesary alterations to its
boards...)
otherwise the ZO will be useless to me, as i have very
little AS rack space that i reserve for future AS
modules only.
thank you very much,
best regards,
bakis.

Cynthia
Hey Cynth (or should I say Synth)(sorry)
When you say 'not' the walnut cabinets.... have you checked the bottom row of the 44-cabinet (slant)? There are other modules which won't fit in the bottom row because of the angle vs. module depth issue. Remember- that's not a 90-degree angle. The Blacet Time Machine (in dotcom format) comes to mind.

Hi Cynthia,

same problem here, I'm getting the second Eurorack ZO, which will be shipped to Ingo Zobel, my ASys racks are full of modules, so I only have space in one of my Doepfer frames.

Thanks for your efforts and all the best

Thank You Morby!

It's little details such as this that are enormously helpful for us to know.

Thanks for your feedback!

Re: Dotcom cab. slant - Re: Update

2006-03-15 by ~Morbius~

Yea! I've already upgraded the power supply for my studio system in anticipation... so I'm ready on this end.
If you need an idea of depth... here's a pic of the dotcom TM from the side... so you can see that the TM would not fit in the bottom row of a 44-slant (or top of an inverted 44-slant). This little detail caused me to have to re-arrange a significant quantity of modules (having two TM's), and I ended-up selling both (re-arranged again). So yeah, I guess I would need whatever adapters you are doing to handle the depth-issue.
