Hello all, There was a discussion elsewhere about this apparent trend of people publicly videoblogging their progress learning the theremin on YouTube. The consensus was that this is a bad thing. I tend to agree. I wrote that there are two types of performances I find interesting. Good precision playing, and musical soundscapes. The latter is attributable to my love of industrial music (or "dark ambient" or whatever they're calling it these days....think Throbbing Gristle). The former is attributable to my love of classical music and my own classical piano training. I don't like bad precision playing. Nobody does, I hope. My collection of music includes all of the above. I try to play the first two types on my program. I try to avoid the third, but sometimes stuff slips through. I have a big folder of music files on my computer that got played exactly once.
