Thanks and hopes

Hi all,

First, thanks to David for creating this group. I am a member of Levnet,
but find it to be dominated by very old-fashioned music. I end up
discarding most of the messages unread.

To me, the theremin does do "woo-woo" very well. And with effects and a
body of different techniques not used by the theremin Romantic melodist
performer, it can be very exciting.

I can do without yet another "Swan". I'd much rather hear licks through a
distortion unit, or hear the theremin play percussive thumps, and a whole
group of "woo-wooists" interacting to produce beating and tensions. It is a
rich instrument for use in the soundscape, and multiple theremins
"woo-wooing" drive one of my own pieces for 3 theremins and
video+electronic playback.

So thanks again, and hello to everyone who has joined.

Dennis
