I was lucky enough to attend the concert, and meet Thomas Bloch afterwards. He is very genial, and was very happy to explain a number of details about the Ondes Martenot to the many people who flocked around after the fact. He left the regular speakers (Palme, Resonnance, Metallique, and regular) at home, and opted for a small modern amplifier. If anyone is interested, I have jpgs of his ondes, including a closeup of the control drawer, I'd be willing to post. >There will be a concert at St. John's Cathedral in Milwaukee on the >18th of November. Performing will be Present Music (Milwaukee's New >Music Ensemble), the Milwaukee Choral Artists, the Milwaukee >Children's Choir, and (drumroll) Ondes Martenot player Thomas Bloch! >The concert includes a performance of Messiaen's Trois Petites >Liturgies for women's choir, ondes martenot, and large ensemble. >For further information, see <www.presentmusic.org>. -- David Bohn composer conductor organist dbohn@... http://www.wiscomposers.org/members/bohnd.html
