Not surprising. I have a Kimball pump organ here in my studio. Kimball also
used to build pipe organs and they are among the very finest. They
over-engineered everything. When a 1/4" plywood piece was required for a rack
board, they used 3/8". Everything is stout. Built like the proverbial brick
outhouse! Indestructable.

My first "real" instrument was also a piano, a George Steck console. I still
have it. It still plays well however it needs refinishing. The years, six
moves, and wear and tear have taken a toll on its appearance.
