Hello all,
Man, am I beat. We just got back from vacation....and now I need to
recover from the return! It was a nice time.
We got delayed a day after Eric came down sick, then on June 4th we
drove from St. Louis to Nashville to see my sister-in-law and new baby
niece. Her name is Kiran Kaur Bhela, and she is a little pudgy-cheeked
wonder!! :-) I'm not sure how it will be growing up as a Sikh in
Nashville, but Suhkwinder tells me he's gotten no hassles at all.
Mattie is a liberal Christian so it should all work out well. His
family also live in Nashville, and Mattie has an aunt in Huntsville,
Alabama, and we're pretty close too so hopefully things will all be just
peachy.
We stayed the night and then drove down to Spring Hill, Florida, where
we spent the week with my mother-in-law. I had a laptop computer with
me and had to work on some school stuff, which was annoying because I
think it's pitiful that I don't have enough time to prepare for classes
properly without eating my own vacation time, but at least it wasn't all
of it and I got a good deal done.
On the way down I had several CDs burned to listen to from EFN and
Spellbound. My idea of arranging promotional samplers was borne out by
listening to them, and I'm going to start looking at what might make a
good first collection.
I listened to the album of Takeuchi Masami, and it's really good.
You'll start hearing music from that as soon as the show resumes next week.
Yesterday we left for home and got as far as Monteagle, Tennessee, where
we spent the night. Then we made the last sprint home today. Right now
I'm plowing through about 350 e-mails. :-)
