The song remains the same

Hello all, All of the feedback I received suggests that no one has any serious issues with keeping SPELLBOUND-L as the name of the list. A couple folks even said they didn't mind the similarity with the radio program because they are tuned towards the same thing, which is promoting the theremin as a serious musical instrument in all genres of music. Someone mentioned that they would not be put off from enjoying music that did or didn't have a theremin in it....I wish rock music fans were so flexible. I get tired of hearing guitarheads slag synthesizers night and day. And, in the interest of full disclosure, I don't really care for the sound of guitars -- I find them boring -- and avoid music with guitars in it for the most part. It is also common in jazz for listeners to gravitate to the performances of particular instruments, more so than in rock music. Certainly, "theremin music" is an overbroad niche (hey, I just coined a phrase...I'll be famous!!!) but only because of the inherent challenges in the instrument itself. I have found theremins in nearly every genre of music in my searches.... Um, well, I haven't found any country music with theremin, but I'm sure it's just a matter of time. :-) -- ----- DAVID VESEL -- synthetic music for humans http://davidv.purplenote.com porphyrous@... ----- The Purple Note Radio Network: Escape From Noise, vocal electronica, 10PM Sats http://efn.purplenote.com Spellbound, music for theremin, 11PM Suns http://spellbound.purplenote.com -----
