The Project: Pimento virtual release party was a smash!

Hello all, It took a bit of jockeying, but once we got going, it was splendid! Robby Virus and Lola Bombay graced the Cygnus Radio chat room to mingle and field questions about the new album by Project: Pimento, titled Space Age Love Songs, during last night's episode of Spellbound, a brief program of music for theremin. Robby also indulged us in a 20 minute live phone interview discussing, among other things: * the new album * the origins of the band * how he got started on the theremin * what he thinks now of the first album * who are his favorite thereminists * about recording for the movie "Hellboy" * what the future holds In addition, Lola Bombay made it into the chat room (fashionably) late in the program, which was a pleasant surprise. We ended up with a little over 2 hours on the show, playing all of Space Age Love Songs, most of their 2003 album Magic Moods of the Theremin, a couple of tracks from their 2000 demo album, and some songs by thereminists Robby picked out (two jazzy bits by Lydia Kavina, two songs featuring Pamelia Kurstin, plus Robby hadn't heard Barbara Buchholz before so I played "Habtap" for him, a great jazz tune). For those of you who missed it, I'll be getting the podcast up sometime today for download. It was a fun time for all who listened and came to the chat room. Immense thanks to Robby for making the time to spend all night with us and do the phone interview live on the air, and also to Lola for coming by and chatting as well.
