1.)
S-1100 and S-1000 have these options
2.)
I guess it´s the disk drive !!!!
I had the same case in the 90th and before it happened, data written to disk appeared corrupted when reading.
Better look for a replacement,- check Route66Studios for replacement disk drives.
http://www.route66studios.com/drives.html
I see S-900,- maybe it fits the S-1000.
If you´ve found a replacement drive,- move over using SCSI ( simple SCSI, not SCSI 2 or SCSI ultrawide or such) harddrives and/or MO drives,- just only using the floppy drive to transfer your floppy-disk library to the harddrives and backup on the MO drive.
Once done,- forget the floppys at all.
Even version of OS in eproms doesn´t matter anymore ´cause you can simply copy the latest OS to he harddrive and boot from there.
Advice:
Don´t believe, every HD floppy drive will work in a S-1xxx series sampler,- so you probably won´t get it cheap.
Once,-I replaced a floppy drive in my S-1000,- it was definitely a TEAC,- but I forgot the model number, so some investigation is needed.

either 2 things I can think of1. you're selecting 'low' and not 'high' although i have an s1100 so im not sure if the s1000 has this option.2. it's your disk drivewhat OS you running?, as in, the OS on startup without an OS disk.----- Original Message -----From: a pSent: Wednesday, March 31, 2010 6:10 PMSubject: [akaiS1000S1100Samplers] S1000 Floppy issue
Hey everyone. I have a weird issue with my floppy drive. I try and format discs to use with my S1000, and when its done formatting, I try to save something to it, and it says unformatted disc. I have tried this with about 5 diff discs, all fresh formats, to no avail. I have nothing here, to test if it can load sounds or anything, so am definitely open to ideas. Anyone?
Thanks!
