Maybe its a HD which consumes a lot of power. In my case, the HD keeps spinning, but there seems to be a problem with my SCSI interface, at least the internal side. According to the technician at Mutec, a scsi card is able to support an internal HD. Mostly, when a HD stops spinning, there is a problem with the scsi cable. I always thought that the internal scsi bus is just parallel to the external one, but this is not true. As far as I can see, only data signals are the same. The control signals come from different pins on the controller chip. Maybe someone else has more experience with that.
