The Prommer defenitely doesn't do software copies, despite the claim they made in the user and service manuals. I've had 3 of them, software copies always fail on checksum, unit fails to boot etc. There are some old EPROM programmers like Stagg (I think it was called). The ones designed for the purpose, as usual.
Prommer does good at drum chip copies, blends/mixes, it converts Simmons linear chips to Linn/DMX, but the pre-emphasis doesn't really match any machine I tried, the sampling input level selection is poor, and all that "use it as a sampler" stuff is pointless, even then.

Thanks bro! I came up with it myself and was thinking
of working it into a tattoo somehow.
He, he, he,- great one !
And there will come the time when no one knows or remembers what
MIDI is or was ... :-)
Does anyone here that has the S1100 know what exact
size of the Roms are? Like 27c512 or higher? 27c1001? I
have a client and his unit is having probs accepting the
new Rom update. I am starting to think it's the size or
speed of the Roms...any thoughts?

Unfortunately not,- sorry.
I´m thinking of burning new eproms for some of my hardware gear
before the originals die,- but don´t have a eprom burner.
My tech has a Oberheim Prommer, but I fear it won´t work with every
eprom out there.
Which ones are you using ?
Next time my tech comes by I´ll ask him,- he finds out when we have
a Akai S1100 open which needs service.
best
