I have S-1100, S-1000 and S-1000PB.
Only S-1100 has Burr Brown converters and separate ones for the single outs.
The "grittiest" sampler of the AKAI S series is the S-900.
I doubt the S-1000 is punchier than S-1100 or has any more quality over a S-1100.
The S-1000 loses sound quality in MIDI multi mode and w/ several programs on different MIDI channels routed to the stereo outs and single outs,- like every multiplexing machine.
It´s not extremely audible, but there´s a/ the difference to the S-1100 and beside the differences in overall features.
