Akai S1000 / S1100 samplers

i do not know if this group is an active one, but...
 
my name is kimmo modig,  23, i play akai s1100 when performing at gigs, along with a midi controller. it all started when my friend was about to release an album, and he needed someone to help him with transforming his sample-based into a live show. well, the show part is still at progress, but we are doing some gigs every now and then. he has a SU-700 sampler and i have the aformentioned stuff. the music we play is quite dark, hiphop-based, instrumental and slow. the live part is based on improvisation, mostly.

but the primary reason for joining was to get help using the S1100. i use 2HD
disks, and when i format them with 1100 in High mode, the machine says the formatted disk may not be reliable. also, i've been having problems using sounds and programs i've created with different s1100. the same model, but still they dont work together. i study sound design in theatre academy, finland, and we have three s1100:s lying around for some reason in our school. that's why i switch from one to another from time to ime.
 
i got a message with one of the s1100s, after formatting a disk, saying: "unreliable director area". or was it "unworking", but anyway. what's that? the s1100 couldnt read or write anything to floppy disks.
 
but if you understood my crappy english and my problems, please help, if you can, i'd appreciate it.
