Akai S1000 / S1100 samplers

Hi,
Just bought myself a s1100 in great condition, maxed out!
When I got to the studio to test it, it doesn't work!!
The guy who sold it is a reliable dude, so I called him up and told
him about this. He told me it work two weeks ago..

when I opened it up I can see that there is a small diod on what
appears to be the powersupply card (attached to the left side of the
sampler)so it seems to work so far. I've put a floppy in the disk
drive to make shure that it's not just the display that's broken(I
should hear the drive working in that case, right?).. I've also
checked all the fuses I can find, and they all seem fine.

Anyone who's had the same problem or could help me with some advice?
