Thx for reply. In my case, the display was o.k.,- it was only the backlight which I had to replace. The floppydrive works perfect, - I can see programs and samples being loaded. I can tweak programs and samples, - but I hear nothing ! I have 2 S-1100 here, 1 S-1000 and an S-1000PB, - so I was able to swap all the cards in addition to the test routines. So, - the digiboard is the last possibility. So what to do if even the AKAI service haven\ufffdt found the fault ? Maybe they did\ufffdt want to invest too much time for searching... It must be something very strange. If it worked before, I don't think it'd be a processor on the main board. From what I've seen with various electronic problems, it's rarely a solid state problem, more of an electrical or mechanical problem. If you cannot see a display, make sure the floppy drive connector is properly seated; for the s1000, the power up routine goes to the floppy drive before it gets to the main board's OS. --- In akaiS1000S1100Samplers@yahoogroups.com, "PeWe" <ha-pewe@...> wrote: > > Hello ! > At home after power up, it worked, - loaded higher OS from disc, >showed incoming midi data, loaded programs and samples, -but no sound. > We did all tests w/ the result of all cards (FX / SCSI / CD/DAT and all > converters ) fine ... > PSU also good, memory cards too.
