RE: [akaiS1000S1100Samplers] Re: Some s1000 questions (sample start point -> mod wheel, pendulum)

2008-02-29 by Jonathon Stevens

Hi, i've got a fully loaded esi4000 and the routing is pretty disappointing, nothing particularly special about it. I was looking for something similar with modulating loop points via midi CC's, I know the Ensoniq EPS samplers can do it, kinda like a really nasty realtime time stretch. On the plus size the esi has got quite a bit of RAM, internal Zip and SCSI, digital I/O, FX processors and a bunch of filters.

Hey,
thanks for the reply! :)

Yeah, too bad it's "stuck" on velocity, it could probably make some really weird stuff!

So far, I've found out that the Yamaha A3/4/5000 series samplers have almost EVERY
parameter controllabe/routable via MIDI!
I think I'm gonna pick up a a5000 because it's so promising..
and a s1000/s1100 just for the kicks, hehe :)

Also thinking about the E-MU ESI 2000, but I don't think it has the same "control-specs"
as the A series..

Do you know anything about the ESI?
If you do, are there more routing options, other than displayed in the manual?

thanks a ton in advance,

-Geir Helgi
