Alright, I just won a s1100 on ebay.. I was just checking this out: http://lakai.sourceforge.net/docs/s1000_sysex.html I've got a Edirol PCR MIDI controller which can send SysEx messages (there's an editor for it to route the messages to the knobs, wheel, etc.) I also got a template of the Roland PG-300 which can be uploaded to the PCR to replicate a PG-300.. Anyways, I was just wondering (don't know anything about SysEx) if you know that the 'Start', 'Loop' and 'Cross-Fade' parameters are CC or SysEx, and which numbers are they? --- In akaiS1000S1100Samplers@yahoogroups.com, Jonathon Stevens <jonathonbstevens@...> wrote: > > > Hi, i've got a fully loaded esi4000 and the routing is pretty disappointing, nothing particularly special about it. I was looking for something similar with modulating loop points via midi CC's, I know the Ensoniq EPS samplers can do it, kinda like a really nasty realtime time stretch. On the plus size the esi has got quite a bit of RAM, internal Zip and SCSI, digital I/O, FX processors and a bunch of filters. > > > > To: akaiS1000S1100Samplers@yahoogroups.com > From: hageir@... > Date: Fri, 29 Feb 2008 21:06:53 +0000 > Subject: [akaiS1000S1100Samplers] Re: Some s1000 questions (sample start point -> mod wheel, pendulum) > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Hey, > > thanks for the reply! :) > > > > Yeah, too bad it's "stuck" on velocity, it could probably make some really weird stuff! > > > > So far, I've found out that the Yamaha A3/4/5000 series samplers have almost EVERY > > parameter controllabe/routable via MIDI! > > I think I'm gonna pick up a a5000 because it's so promising.. > > and a s1000/s1100 just for the kicks, hehe :) > > > > Also thinking about the E-MU ESI 2000, but I don't think it has the same "control- specs" > > as the A series.. > > > > Do you know anything about the ESI? > > If you do, are there more routing options, other than displayed in the manual? > > > > thanks a ton in advance, > > > > -Geir Helgi > > > > --- In akaiS1000S1100Samplers@yahoogroups.com, "floflood" <floflood@> wrote: > > > > > > Oh, interesting point :-) it must be soft-wired i guess. > > > The software in the hardware still seems software to me. > > > Adjustable velocity curves are quite common on software > > > sequencers.. this could created randomiced sample starts. > > > I think about high hats and drumloops.. more drumloops :) > > > .. > > > Since i was definately "hardwired" on my Ensoniq (no Atari) > > > i didn't know that feature there.
