Akai S1000 / S1100 samplers

Hi there,

My name is Wayne Morrison and I've just joined your group. A recent 
S1000HD owner, I'm familiar with the AKAI sampler setup, being a long-time 
S900 owner. The SCSI aspect of the S1000, however, has me somewhat 
baffled. The internal drive seems to be inoperable - I keep getting a "Drive not 
ready" notice whenever I try to access it, even to format it. Whenever I try to 
access an external drive through the SCSI interface (I own a zip drive as well 
as an old syquest 44MB drive) the S1000 seems to only look for the internal 
drive, so I continually get the "drive not ready" notice. Any help or inight on 
how to solve this problem will be helpful.
