Ooh Man! I'm so Stupid. You're Right, i have must Think at it. The previsous Owner had say, it was 10Meg, and then it Displays only 5 Meg. I Think, he have forgot to attach his Eyeglasses and tell me what about a Horse. ;-) So it's good to know, that the Memory are right detected. But the Error with the Sounds? I found this Site http://www.transanalog.com/ and ask for an Service Manual. Now wait for Answer. A other Thing, i found the Eproms Labeled with S1100 V2.2 in LSB Socket, and S1000 V2.2 in the MSB. Is this a Problem? But the S1000 Start's right and seem to Work correct, except the Sound Problem. --- In akaiS1000S1100Samplers@yahoogroups.com, PeWe <ha-pewe@...> wrote: > > O.k.,- obviously it´s all fine ´cause the size of memory in S-1000 / > S-1100 is reported in mega-words, not mega-bytes ! :-) > > 1 byte is 8bits and 1 word is 16bits and the S-series samplers are 16bit > samplers,- means: 1 mega word is two mega-bytes. > > Watch your display carefully,- it says mega words ! > > So,- 2 mega words are 4 MB and 4 mega words are 8MB > > If your display reads 5 mega words, there are 10MB recognized in real ! > > Tech info about installation of memory boards in the S-1000 / S-1100 is > here,- incl. re-soldering of the mainboard for usage of 2meg cards only > or combos of 2meg cards and 8meg cards as well as usage of 8meg cards > only ... > > http://www.firstpr.com.au/rwi/smem/8Meg.html > > Software upgrades and manuals ( not service manuals unfortunally) for > your S-series Sampler here ... > > http://www.firstpr.com.au/rwi/smem/ > > hope that helps > > :-) > > > marber_mba schrieb: > > > > > > Thank's for the fast Answer, > > > > i put all Card's, incl. an MuTec SCSI, out and tested all alone. > > With the Original 2Meg Card in the very first Slot it Displays 1Mb > > free Memory, and with the 8Meg in the first only 4.
