S1000 Possibilities

Right now both of my S1000's are gathering dust because I find them hardly useful. My S1000 has no SCSI or digital card and the S1000 PB doesn't seem to be working well with the SCSI CD ROM. The only successful thing I have done is sampled parts of my drum kit on the S1000 and transferred them via floppy to paly on the S1000PB. The samples I created sound great but this is a useless set up if I can't take advantage of loading via CD-Rom on either unit. Suggestions? If I don't do too much with the S1000, I will strongly consider going for a S3000 or CD3000XL. The cost of buying the upgrades for the S1000 seems to outweigh the cost of a fully loaded S3000. I would still keep my S1000PB and ME35T combo for loading samples and drum playback. If anyone wants to pick up an S1000 to get started I might consider trading it for an S3000 plus some cash difference or letting it go alltogether for a fair offer.
