Lookin for a floppy drive (S-1100)

Lookin for a floppy drive (S-1100)

2004-05-30 by Diego Meozzi

I'm desperately looking for a replacement floppy drive for my S-1100. I've searched almost
everywhere, with no success. Of course, I've already read the interesting article on http://
akaiscsifaq.digidude.net/akaifaq_floppy.htm
Any suggestion on where to find one of those old drives (of course in working conditions)
would be greatly appreciated!

Diego

Hi,

I looked in my box with old computer parts but my floppy drives are
not old enough. I think it's easier to look in specialized forums. At
yahoo there is a specialized group for old computers. Try this:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/classic-computers/

Did you try ebay?

Regards
Frank

they are around. .. i found two Teacs with the right jumpers at a
hamfest I go to with one of my friends every year. Cost was two
dollars each. Maybe you have one of those near where you live. They're
kinda fun if you go with a friend.

good luck!
