Can use the S1100 as an A/D converter?

2006-10-26 by brainztain

Hi,

Right now I don't have one of those xlr-spdif digital cables to test it
out, but I was wondering if the S1100 can "monitor" and output through
the digital out. Notice I'm not talking about the IB-104, but the
default digital out on the back of the s1100 near the power connection.

This would mean that it can serve as an analog-to-digital converter! I
know you can "monitor" through the analog stereo, but does it do the
same with the digital out, or will it only ouput stuff there when you
playback samples?

Anybody?

Thanks!

I managed to get a cable to connect it but I wasn't able to get the
digital signal out high enough to reach the full volume capacity. I
was "capped" at around half of the potential volume, which is kind of a
bummer.

Anybody else tried this with different results?
