midi sds transfer oddity

midi sds transfer oddity

2007-01-21 by Josh

Hi all,

After much searching I've settled on Awave Studio to send and receive
samples via Midi SDS between my computer (IBM) and my S1000.
Receiving samples from the S1000 works like a dream; they play back
fine, all the looping info is there etc... However, transferring them
back (or loading new samples into the s1000) has a strange result.
The waveform *looks* fine, and the mem words and bitrates correspond,
but all I hear when I hit Ent/Play is a short snippet of the start of
the sample. I've looked through countless screens of info, consulted
the manual, tried sending the samples with no paramaters selected in
Awave, all to no avail. I also tried creating a new program and
associating the sample with it. If this wasn't strange enough, I hear
nothing when I hook my midi controller back up and play the keys.

Incidentally, I had this same problem when I tried Wav_Akai, and
thought at the time it was a limitation of the unregistered software.

Any help on this matter would be much appreciated. Apologies in
advance if this is a simple newbie mistake.

Cheers,
-Josh
