Aha... I think the firmware build in your CPU must have been missing the
reset of pattern directions in the wipe memory code (the location for
this data moved to allow 'acc conf' to be stored together).
Sorry about that - it's hard to spot that sort of thing when you're
testing on a machine that is already initialised.
I think I'll add a little hidden option to randomly scramble the memory
so I notice these things...

This probably means it's missing from the build in all the second run
kits sent out so far.
The simple work around is just to set 'direction' to forward the first
time you edit a pattern - that'll force it to a sensible value.
Invalid directions won't cause any harm - the pattern simply won't
advance.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
