Hi Gabe, > my question is say i want to build one my self(asuming i have not > waited too long) The first run of kits is sold out, but hopefully there will be enough interest for a second run. > is any one going to produce the cases for a desk top version? for a > rack mount? hope this si not an overly redundant question. The desktop cases I've made so far have had the pot and LED holes drilled by hand, and the cut-outs for the LCD, keypad and switch board cut out using a hand-held metal nibbler. It needs a fair bit of filing and sanding to get the finish up to scratch, and then it needs to be re-painted. The end result is quite nice, but it takes me a good few hours of work to get it done, so I can't start mass producing them. I've also had a rack panel made by Schaeffer, which is obviously a much higher quality of finish, but I'm yet to come up with a satisfactory rear enclosure - my rack panel is sitting on a couple of pieces of wood at the moment, to hold it off the table. When I get the time, I'll investigate the cost of getting both the machining of the desktop case, and the construction of a rear end for the Schaeffer panel done professionally. I've been a bit too busy of late to do this yet. > how much is the diy kit? are all diodes, resistors, > caps, knobs, ect. included..? I'll be costing the full kit soon too. I've got a couple of 'test' kits to put together to see how much effort it takes.
