You shouldn't find any of the parts hard to source. They are mostly standard 7400 series and 4000 series logic ICs, and a few common resistors and caps. I'll post the bill of materials with part numbers for some common suppliers soon. > i spent hours and hours just counting all tyhe > resistors for each kit... The nice thing about an essentially digital project is that there aren't that many different values of component - only about 4 or 5 different resistor values and maybe 3 or 4 caps. Not offering the full kit is a good way to keep the cost down, especially since so many are being shipped abroad - import duty can add significantly to the cost. You're much more likely to be hit with tax if the item being shipped is above a certain price. Hopefully not too many people will be stung for duty on the PCB/CPU kits. > how much is the pcb and parts list running. PCB/CPU kits were 60 ukp in the first run, but the price will go up in the second run, as I was taking into account the beta status of the software. I'm yet to add up the total of the rest of the parts, but it's roughly 100 ukp. Still very cheap for what it is though ! > do you have templates for the 2 housings? I have Schaeffer front panel designer files for both, but the desktop version file is just for use as a printed-out template for centre punching the holes. I'll post these before too long ! > what inspired your task?? You'll find the background in the p3-history.txt file in the Yahoo group files section.
