yes, its a screenshot from my CAD system. it should look mirrored, smething like polished stainless stell. the scratch paranoia problem could by solved by sticking an extra thin foil on it. i didn't realize that there is a multi key function, i just remembered my korg electribe where the shift function is on the left side. i'll move them to the right! the thing with the data knobs isn't that problematic, the black knob will be used for tempo and mostly the tempoknob isnt used 'coz there is a native based sequencer. the data knob i'll probably move a bit more to the left side.... the pot knobs should be made from aluminum and the should have a shape to cover the nuts and sure, the should have this gold look! keep going on..... thanks for your statements! grz mag colinfraser_com <colin@colinfraser.com> wrote: Seems my bouncing email at the weekend caused my Yahoo account to deactivate. I don't know if the surface is meant to look mirrored, but that would be cool ;-) (although I think 'scratch paranoia' might be a problem) Ergonomically, I'm not sure about the data and tempo knobs above the display - that means your hand will obscure the data you are trying to adjust. I've spent ages trying to find a layout I like better than the standard one (better for usability rather than looks). Maybe it's just because I'm so used to that layout, but I find I can't improve it within the constraint of fitting a 4U 19" rack. As Paul mentioned, the step key mode switch has a shortcut with FUNC that you can't do one handed with the mode switches on the left side. I have put those switches in that location on two of the older P3s I upgraded, but I think I prefer them on the right of the step keys - it seems more naturally suited to a right handed user. I wonder if left-handed people would prefer the keypad on the other side ? Cheers, Colin f --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Friends. Fun. Try the all-new Yahoo!
