They can be made to look pretty without a soldering iron, as long as you don't mind a slight loss of functionality - i.e. no input, display or output. Seriously though, the assembly is pretty straight forward - much less complicated than analogue synth circuitry where you have lots of different values of components. I estimate it would take me less than 2 hours to populate a set of boards. I've been thinking about doing one with a clear case to show what's inside, and save me drilling holes for LEDs and LCD ;-) That should be v. prettty. Once I've generated some capital from the initial run of boards, I'll be able to buy enough component stock to sell complete kits, populated board sets and ultimately complete units. If people are prepared to pay a deposit that's enough to cover the cost of components, then I'll be able to do that sooner. Soldering is fun. Maybe it's time to learn ? Cheers, Colin f
