Bear in mind all patterns are in playlists, even if the playlist is
just one step. If chg is set to B it will synchronise to the global
bar. If set to P it will loop at its own length.
Incidentally, a thing I would like to see would be a + / - way of
setting the global bar rather than using data entry and enter. It is a
rather cool trick to vary the global bar during performance - right
down to 1 step then back again. By mixing patterns that playback at
either P or B, the variations are quite fascinating. But it's hard to
control and time using the current method.
P3 off for another gig this weekend. Wish it luck. Have actually
prepared a few tracks in advance using cool aux events. For example, I
have a bank where the music starts with lots of sustained chords. My
problem is that once I get everything else kicking in, I sometimes
forget this kind of background pad and it runs all the way through,
making the sound mushy. So I programmed an Aux event that will mute
the track when the Aux D accumulator passes a certain value. Then by
increasing this accumulator I can automatically stop my slushy chords
without thinking. Now if only the track could unmute itself in the
same way <g>. Yeah, I know, it can. I use another Part. Assuming I
remember.... hey, I could program that too <VBG>.
