right.
installed midi-ox (couldn't find the old simple midi file player I thought I
had, & it transpires that my yamaha data filer doesn't like sysex files no
matter what I do to the extension.... funny, I thought I remembered updating my
supernova with it.....) & I have tried both 3.971 & the midi-through modified
version of same.

well, the latter (3.97dunc) is exactly what I wanted, so I'm happy. my
controller keyboard sends pitch-wheel, mod-wheel & everything else to whatever
channel it's set to (including the live-record channel if I've selected it), while
the keyboard (note on/off) only goes to the live-record channel.
when not in live-record, midi-through behaves as before.

the 3.971 version behaves differently.... while the pitch wheel still found
it's way through to the target channel (as above), the volume & mod wheel are
not passed at all. ever. was this just me or has anyone else found this in
3.971?
anyway, whatever it was, it's fixed in 3.97dunc.

I love the new note-repeat behaviour; the trills are spot on now, & not
affected at all by note length. they scale with timebase, as does delay, with the
effect that all timing adjustments are rendered musically. I think I'll stick
with this version, colin! & if I ever need to do some none-musical timing
shifts or stutter effects, I can use velocity control over delay & linked
patches....

anyone want to buy a schaltwerk? :-)

back to the shortbread now.

duncan.
