Go into pattern edit, go to aux A and configure it for 'knob n to velo'.
Set each step active, and set the value to the number of the track the
pattern you are editing is on.
Save the pattern and exit.
With the pattern playing, the velocity for each note will be grabbed from
the current position of the note knob above the track key.
You may only want to affect certain notes, in which case, only set a few
steps active.
You might like to have a little 'sequence' of velocities you can quickly and
non-detructively edit from play mode - in which case set each step in the
pattern to grab velocity from the number of the step + 16. This will let you
set up a velocity 'pattern' on the upper knobs in play mode that the pattern
will then grab.
