Go into pattern edit, go to aux A and configure it for 'knob n to velo'. Set each step active, and set the value to the number of the track the pattern you are editing is on. Save the pattern and exit. With the pattern playing, the velocity for each note will be grabbed from the current position of the note knob above the track key. You may only want to affect certain notes, in which case, only set a few steps active. You might like to have a little 'sequence' of velocities you can quickly and non-detructively edit from play mode - in which case set each step in the pattern to grab velocity from the number of the step + 16. This will let you set up a velocity 'pattern' on the upper knobs in play mode that the pattern will then grab.
