You have to save the pattern on one track before you can edit a
pattern on another. So you save your pattern which takes you back to
the main track view. Then you edit another. I can't think of another
way to phrase it, sorry.
If you like you can record via MIDI input directly from track view;
hold down record and the track number. To jump to another, select
another track. That way you don't have to go into the edit screen at
all. Does that help?

The MAQ has just three rows so comparisons, while interesting, can
only be taken so far. They are different machines. If you have both,
you are lucky.
