so when you're editing auxes, the light would be green if a given step
had no gate and an aux *value* of anything but zero, amber if it had a
gate and non-zero aux value, and red if it had a gate with a zero aux
value?

i'm not sure that would be consistent with the way things work... ties,
gates, xpose defeat, and skips are all binary values. using the LEDs to
show this information is easy and useful, but using them to indicate that
a value is present in the aux may not be. after all, auxes don't do
anything if there is no gate. so i never put aux values on steps that are
off. does anyone else add aux values to off steps? i can see a use for it,
but it doesn't seem like it would be something someone would do a lot.

what *could* be useful is to display the tie status at all times. i find
myself having to remember that certain notes are tied when i'm editing
auxes and such, and i don't like to think too much when making music. :)
this would make it easy to add some weirdness in the middle of a held
note, which would be cool.

what do other people think?

bleep.
out.
