The new mainboard has a PIC on it that does DIN sync to MIDI clock conversion. This allows the sync output to be configured for DIN sync or clock only midi out. The new 6 DIN I/O board is incompatible with the previous mainboard. A 6 DIN board for the previous mainboard would have the PIC on the I/O board itself. It would give you an optional clock only midi out instead of DIN sync, plus 4 parallel midi outs instead of just one - just the same I/O options as the new revision boards. To support this, a single jumper wire needs to be added to the older mainboard. Cheers, Colin f
