Metalwork finish - aluminium or painted

2004-12-24 by highflightfoundation

Hi to Colin and everyone

I just wanted to add my thoughts to the recent discussion regarding the metalwork
for the production version of the P3.

I personally would love it to be brushed aluminium ,
but understand that this would be too expensive,
so my next choice would be anodised aluminium !
(Even if this means that the PCB stand-off marks are slightly visable.)

what is the finish on the Richie Hawtin P3 ?, because it looks very cool !!

If the production version is going to be painted metalwork, what colour would this be ?
and is there any danger that the paint could scratch off over time ?, and perhaps end up
looking a bit shabby....

Well, I'm sure Colin will make the right decision, and I DO understand that whatever the
paint/metalwork finish, it will not alter one jot the amazing capabilities of the P3 !!

I'm just looking forward to early next year, when I can build my own P3, hook it up to my
old Octave Cat synth (for starters),
and just drift away into arpeggiated-polyrhyrhmic-muti-pattern-step-sequenced Heaven !
And it's all going to stay in the right scale too ! amazing !!

Merry Christmas all

Peace

Pete Frith
