The production units will be able to have the standard front panel replaced
with a Schaeffer panel, if you really want to have it the same. It will then
look almost exactly the same from the front, and roughly the same at the
back.
The standard front panel would then be surplus to requirements, but you
might well find someone on the group willing to buy it, which would offset
the cost of the Schaeffer panel - roughly 80 quid.
I wouldn't expect many people will go down the custom panel route, but
obviously if you really want a matching pair...
The only change required from the front panel design on your current unit
would be to relocate a few of the mounting holes round the edge, so it fits
the production rear enclosure, which it must be said, is a really high
quality piece of engineering ;-)
When I get a minute, I'll sort out an FPD file for a Schaeffer replacement
production front panel, and post it to the files section, so would-be P3
customisers can have a play.
