Re: P3 promotion

I discovered P3 when someone mentioned it on the Oakley mailing list.

In my opinion one good way to increase awareness of the P3 beyond the 354
members of the Yahoo Group is by submitting regular press releases to music
gear e-zines like HarmonyCentral.com and SonikState.com. I have composer
buddies who have their browsers default to HarmonyCentral at startup, and I
must admit I check it out once a week. Of course the P3 website would have
to be changed to appeal more to people who buy finished units and the diy
element moved to it's own corner. And the regular updates may have to be
bundled into press release worthy clusters. I have often wondered why
people like Tony Allgood and MOTM don't do press releases to blow up sales.

Also, Dave Smith (evolver) is an expert at getting distributors like
Sweetwater to shoulder costs of the promotion of his gadgets through their
ads in Electronic Musician and Mix magazines. He also manages to place a
lot of print press releases.

These ideas reflect my personal modes of thinking; I think it's fun to GROW
businesses, and that one purpose of business is to expand, but you also have
to want to be busier. Colin may have other priorities/ideas, like keeping
the P3 userbase small so he can have time to play with his boy (I have a 7
month old boy so I know what it's like to be too busy). Anyway I'm going
way OT.

I spoke to Shawn Cleary here in the states and he said that the main
priority is getting built unit orders filled. Is there a chance that some
of us kit buyers will have to wait until the next run of P3's?
