Hi Richard > just as a matter of interest, why did you guys choose the p3 over the Doepfer Maq 16/3? Are they different in their functionality? > I only have a P3, so I can't compare the two in the same manner as Jez. But when I decided to buy an Analogue style sequencer I was comparing the 16/3 and the P3 by reading manuals and comparing specs. I went for the P3 for the following reasons ... 1) 8 Tracks on P3, 3 on the 16/3. 2) Force To Scale. I can't produce a bum note however much I twiddle those knobs (and in my case that's a god send ;-) ). Doesn't exist on the 16/3 (or anything alse near this price range). 3) Aux Events and Accumulators. Sounded interesting and powerful. The reality is they are the trickiest thing on the P3 to get your head around. But stick at it and its really worth it. Powerful ... god yes. There is nothing like this on any other sequencer I know of. 4) Great support from the developer and other users. If you trawl through this group you can see that Colin is more than happy to answer questions from users and help them out with problems. Even better, he is open to feature requests and implements the best of them. You also have users like Mr Nagle, (a man who has used more than his fair share of sequencers in his time), also providing their help and expertise (Just look at Paul's user guide). I've had a P3 for 6 months now, and have no regrets. Its such damn good fun to use. No ... actually I have one regret. And that is that I should have got one MUCH MUCH sooner. Hope that helps Dave
