Changing the base note didn't help. > It's so also on yours? There are some differences of opinion about the octave numbering for midi notes. It was never defined by in the midi standard. This page may be of interest: http://www.borg.com/~jglatt/tutr/notenum.htm I applied the logic of having octave 0 the bottom of the midi note range, rather than aligning the numbers with what you might expect on a piano keyboard. Aside from anything else, there are only three character spaces to display the note names, so something like C#-2 couldn't have fitted. Cheers, Colin f
