To get a reasonable number of channels, you end up with a load of connectors on the back. There's little practical difference between a processor-based hardware sequencer with MIDI driving a MIDI to CV convertor, and a similar sequencer with native CV/Gate output. You could argue that a heavily laden MIDI bus could introduce timing errors that you might notice, which a CV native sequencer wouldn't. If/when I get the multiple MIDI output mod working, then dedicating one MIDI output to a CV convertor for one synth will give you a maximum latency of less than 5ms, which is to all intents and purposes instant. I've got a MIDI to CV convertor kit in the works, which will be do the job nicely. Best regards, Colin Fraser Sequentix Music Systems Ltd http://www.sequentix.com
