You can clear a pattern using the clear function, but you have to be in pattern edit for that. Once you've cleared one pattern, you could 'save to' it to every other pattern in the track, but that's a bit long-winded. There is a modified 'bank init' function accessed by holding FUNC while confirming bank init, which only clears the patterns on active (un-muted) tracks.
